The band received a significant boost with the news of a Youth Music Initiative grant from the Scottish Arts Council. This grant will pay for a professional tutor for the junior band for the next two years. New members are always welcome as the band works to expand its youth programme. Special guests for the evening were the King's Park Secondary School Jazz Band who performed an entertaining programme to an appreciative audience.
